Maryburgh is in Easter Ross in . It dates from 1815 when the village was establuished as an estate village by the local landowner, who also gave it its name. The village remained undeveloped until the coming of the Hydro electric expansion, the aluminium smelter and then oil developments. Much of the housing dates from that era.
