Mintlaw is located in Aberdeenshire. It is a prehistoric site. A planned village forms the heart of the town dating from 1813. It expanded with the arrival of the railway (now closed). Mintlaw is an important local service centre for the surrounding rural area and since the oil boom has become popular with commuters.
