Newburgh and Burnside is in Fife. It was a port and market town whose origins were associated with abbey at nearby Lindores. linen, flax, malting and quarrying were important historically. Linoleum was manufactured in Newburgh until the 1980s. Quarrying continues today but for the many residents are commuters and the town is a local service centre. A new distillery has been opened.
