Roslin in Midlothian is n eccelsaistical settlement associated with Rosslyn Chapel. It became a mining settlement with the Moat Colliery. The colliery closed in 1969. The Roslin Institute (genetics research) and Roslin Bio Centre are located on the edge of the town. Substantial housing development is taking place.
