St Cyrus in Aberdeenshire was an ecclesiastical town established in the 1700s. It was known as Ecclesgreig. Salmon fishing was the main economy of the town in times past and there is still traditional net salmon fishing today. Some new housing has been built on the north west of the town for commuters. Local services are limited.
